Spinco Biotech's tremendous growth is
attributed to the growth in laboratory and chromatography equipments
The
company has registered a significant growth of 82 percent in 2010-11 as
sales revenue touched
456.58
crore as compared to last year's revenue of
250.68
crore. This tremendous growth is attributed to the growth in laboratory
equipments (
122 crore from
10 crore) and chromatography equipments (
277 crore
from
195
crore).
In January 2011, Spinco Biotech entered into partnership with Illumina,
a global leader in next generation sequencing and array-based
solutions. During the same month, Spinco Biotech along with LCGC
launched First Source Laboratory Solutions as a one-stop source for a
wide range of laboratory equipments. The products range from pipettes
to freeze dryers from global leaders such as SP Scientific, Reichert,
Corning, Kinematica, Proton, MMM, Major Science, Select Bio Products,
IKA, to name a few.
Spinco's commitment towards customer education has resulted in the
inception of IICMS (Indian Institute of Chromatography and Mass
Spectrometry) at Chennai in January 2011. This provides world class
formal training in advanced use of HPLCs and MS systems. Spinco group
is also diversifying into contract research services and reagent
manufacturing through Perfomics Biolabs initiative.
The year 2010 has reiterated Spinco Biotech's market leadership in
chromatography with an installed base of over 12,000 Shimadzu HPLCs in
India. This has paved the way for expansion of its portfolio into the
mass spectrometry arena, introducing advanced MS platforms from
Shimadzu.
In August 2010, Spinco reached its greatest milestone of 10,000
Shimadzu HPLCs installations in India.
Through its Lyo, Lab and Process solutions, Spinco brings automation to
process technologies such as PAT/NIR online analyzers (FOSS, US), pilot
and production homogenizers (Kinematica AG, Switzerland), automatic
loading/unloading vial transfer carts coupled with large-scale
production lyophilizers (SP Industries - VirTis/FTS/Hull, US) and lab
gas generators (Peak, UK).
