“Biotech course provides exposure to various subjects�

I finished my BE in biotechnology from Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology in 2006 and Master of Science (MS) in bioinformatics in 2009. Currently, I am working as senior bioinformatics analyst at Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. I have been working for the past two years. I am responsible for developing an integrated systems biology data warehouse and analysis platform to collect data related to diseases of military relevance such as post-traumatic stress disorder and coagulopathy of trauma.

The BE biotechnology course provided exposure to a wide variety of subjects. This helped me gain a broad perspective in the field and provided the necessary foundation to pursue my higher studies.
