HP's cloud-enabled solutions, eHealth centers are rapidly deployable facilities built to connect patients in remote areas, to receive consultations and diagnoses from physicians and specialists, HP senior VP and MD (APJ) printing and personal systems Mr Nick Lazaridis said. An EHealth center is customised and fully equipped with cloud-integrated diagnostic equipment, workstations and video conferencing, he added.

"We plan to install upto 20 eHealth centers over the next 18-24 months. The equipment and training will be provided by HP," Mr Lazaridis said. The first eHealth Center was established in 2012 in Haryana. There are six eHealth centers operating in India currently.

Narayana Health will create awareness and understanding about the program locally through outreach camps, public awareness campaigns and healthcare education program.

HP and NH will also launch three new health hub support centers to serve the eHealth center network. These will provide a facility where staff can get support on technical and medical issues related to operations.

"Our goal is to provide high quality healthcare on a large scale to people," said Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, vice chairman and CEO, Narayana Health. He added, "Partnering with an innovation partner leader like HP allows us to leverage technologies, such as telemedicine and cloud capabilities, to accelerate our goal of reaching more people and delivering early detection and diagnosis to patients, while maintaining manageable costs."

HP India country manager Ms Neelam Dhawan said HP's cloud-enabled technology, which is central to eHealth centers, is helping change the dynamics of the healthcare system in India.
