Heart Hospital in Patna, currently being run by Dr Rajan Thakur, son of founder late Dr AK Thakur, has not only treated over 3 lakh patients but has also served as a leading heart care facility for patients from Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Nepal.
"Our mission is to make advanced cardiac health care facilities available to the masses at affordable costs. We never think about reaching a specific number as we focus on providing quality treatment over quantity. We would continue treating needy patients or those who cannot afford treatments. We don't get any donations or grants from any organization, but we have several tie-ups with the state and central government to help the poor," said Dr Rajan Thakur, chairman and director, Heart Hospital, Patna.
Now a pioneer in primary and normal angioplasty in Bihar and Jharkhand, the hospital initially took small footsteps and began as an indoor nursing home with few beds.
Today, the hospital is doing the maximum heart surgeries in the region by any private hospital at most affordable prices. "We have performed many angioplasties, pacemaker implantations, bypass surgeries, valve replacement, etc. without compromising on quality treatment. Modern techniques have been practiced here for many years. Recently, a new method of pacemaker implantation- a technique which is just 2 years old worldwide, was done successfully at our hospital. We believe that quality is everything when it comes to treating patients," he added.
The hospital regularly holds several workshops on ROTA- a complex angioplasty technique and the staff regularly attend conference in various parts of India and abroad to keep themselves our latest practices in modern cardiology.
