Cutyx Research LLP, an India-based contract research and formulation development organisation, and Biota, an Israel-based biotechnology company, have announced a strategic collaboration and technology license agreement to jointly develop and commercialise oral film strip formulations built on Biota’ s proprietary platform technology, which is patent-protected in India and other territories.
Under the agreement, Biota will license its platform technology to Cutyx, which will lead formulation design, feasibility studies, and prototype development for a pipeline of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Oral film strips offer a fast-dissolving, water-free alternative to conventional tablets and capsules — a format particularly well suited to pediatric, geriatric, and dysphagia patient populations.
The companies will pursue commercialisation jointly through partnering, licensing, and technology transfer arrangements with pharmaceutical and CDMO organizations worldwide.
