PerkinElmer, Inc. announced that it has received the Leadership Award for Contribution to Healthcare at the recent Healthcare Summit held in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Jayashree Thacker, President, PerkinElmer India, accepted the award from Shri KR Ramesh Kumar, Honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka and Smt KK Shylaja Teacher, Honorable Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Government of Kerala.

Other dignitaries present included Shri K Rajeshwara Rao, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India; Dr. Rathan Kelkar, Mission director, Government of Karnataka; Rina Desai, Head of Biocon Foundation; TL Alamelu, Director and General Manager, New India Health Insurance; and senior personnel from UNDP, World Bank, Public Health Foundation of India, UNESCO, Karnataka Health Promotion Trust and various other private institutions and non-government organizations.
The Summit was organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka and National Health Mission, Karnataka. The summit focused on four thematic areas: Best Practices in Healthcare Delivery; Leadership and Governance to Healthcare Delivery; Strengthening Co-ordination – Self Help Group Model for Health; and Information Communication Technology in Healthcare.
