Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has launched Ezetimibe and Simvastatin tablets in the US market.
Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has launched Ezetimibe and Simvastatin tablets in the US market.
The product is a therapeutic equivalent of generic version of Vytorin (Ezetimibe and Simvastatin) tablets, a registered trademark of MSD International GmbH.
The drug is indicated along with a proper diet to help lower "bad" cholesterol and fats. Vytorin contains a combination of ezetimibe and simvastatin. Ezetimibe reduces the amount of cholesterol absorbed by the body. Simvastatin is in a group of drugs called HMG CoA reductase inhibitors, or "statins."
The Vytorin brand had US sales of approximately $678 million for the 12 months ended in February 2017.
