Behind the initiative are Indo-French Center for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA) is India's first and France's only bilateral organization, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a Public Sector Undertaking 'Not-for-Profit Company' under Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and Bpifrance financement (hereafter referred as Bpifrance) , a public investment bank in France.
The project proposal will be focused on development of industrial application oriented health technologies in the areas of cancer, cardiac and infectious diseases.
The themes can include identification of new targets or biomarkers that leads to development of sensitive, specific and affordable diagnostic tests is prime focus of the call. Also, the development of new therapeutic options in terms of therapeutic protein or drugs are also encouraged for these targeted disease in the current call that has potential for commercialization. Besides that the proposal on affordable process development for existing therapeutics will also be encouraged that have potential implication on effective industrial scale-up for cost effective production.
Project proposal shall have at least one register company (start-ups/ SMEs) from India and one from France (start-ups/ SMEs) each as joint applicant. The applicant should be start-ups and SMEs Company of both regions. They can have co- applicants and collaborators from academia, reseach or industry.
