Ms Shilpa D Nirula will assume the new roles from September 1, 2014

Ms Shilpa D Nirula will assume the new roles from September 1, 2014

The current CEO, Dr Gyanendra Shukla, will transition as regional lead of Monsanto's Africa Region.

He is said to lead Monsanto's efforts to transform agriculture in Africa.

Ms Shilpa is expected to assume the new role from Dr Shukla for both the offices beginning this September 1, 2014, said Monsanto's press statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shukla said, "Shilpa's breadth of experience and understanding of agriculture in India will bring valuable perspective to deepen Monsanto's commitment to India."
