The Mumbai High Court has given the Maharashtra state government 48 hours to set up ebola screening centers at Pune and Nagpur airports, where passengers from ebola-affected countries disembark.

The decision came after activist Mr Ketan Tirodkar filed a public interest litigation alleging that India is not ready and equipped to tackle ebola.

Given the urgency and seriousness of the situation, the court has asked the government to adopt adequate measures to screen passengers arriving from the affected African countries. Further, it said that the facilities should be on par with the ones available at Mumbai and Delhi airports.
