Ranbaxy & APICON create biggest heart, break world record

World record: biggest ever human heart formed by a chain of people

The Ranbaxy Laboratories and APICON 2015 ( 70th Annual Conference of Association of Physicians of India ) on 20th February, 2015, broke the " Guinness World Record ' for making the largest human image of heart in Gurgaon, Haryana.

Realizing the need for proactive emphasis on the preventive healthcare and raising awareness on heart disease in India, Ranbaxy and APICON assembled about 982 people including employees and doctors. The award, constituted 7 years ago ,is given in recognition of the efforts undertaken by the companies to address the social, economic and environmental effects of doing business, while balancing demands on their attention, time and resources. The task was completed in 1 hour and 15 minutes.  

The participants wore T shirts and caps of distict colors to bring about the correct anatomical representation of this central body organ. Creation beat the largest ever human organ being made by humans assembled together.  The earlier record was set on February, 20, 2014 in Liverpool, UK by 687 people who came together to create a human brain on World Encephalitis day.
