Dr Mazumdar-Shaw: ABLE's new non-executive chairman

Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shawm, chairman and managing director of Biocon, has been elected as the first non-executive chairman of Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) in an honorary capacity.

Dr Shaw also chairs Karnataka's Vision Group on Biotechnology and also serves on the advisory council of the Government's Department of Biotechnology.

Mr PM Murali, managing director and CEO of Evolva Biotech, was re-elected as the president for a second term.

Reportedly, the new office bearers will serve in their new positions for three years from 2015 to 2018.
