We want industry (bioscience) to hibernate and come up with unique solutions for the problems faced by the society and country. This was recently stated by the DBT secretary, Dr K Vijay Raghavan.
Speaking on the occcasion of the Annual BioSpectrum Awards 2013 held at Bangalore on December 20, 2013, he mentioned that during his visit to a Noida based start up, he was happy to see how they had made it despite adverse conditions. "There are serious challenges before us in bioinformatics data handling, chemistry and animal research. But a positive approach can always make things work even in unfavorable circumtances ," said Dr Raghavan.
He further talked deeply about the conflict of opinions and how everytime the scientific temperament had superceded all the criticism in longer run. "There are unreasonable regulations that exist asnd hamper the scientific activities. For resolving that, we have to build validatory mechanisms and the government has to communicate more with the industry", he said.
