Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road recently conducted a one-of-its-kind live surgery demonstration on a robot-assisted kidney transplant in association with Intuitive, developer of the Da Vinci Surgical system. The three-hour live session on robot-assisted living donor transplant was led by Dr Mohan Keshavamurthy- Chairman - Renal Sciences Specialty Council, Fortis Hospitals, India & Director- Urology, Uro oncology, Andrology, Robotic Surgery & Transplantation, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru and Dr Sreeharsha Harinatha- Consultant - Urology, Robotic Surgery & Transplantation, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru.
 
The educative session demonstrated various skills and expertise required for a robot-assisted kidney transplant and explained the evolution of minimally invasive kidney transplantation, with a specific focus on robot-assisted kidney transplant and the benefits it offers to specific patient groups.
