Gennova Biopharma sells mRNA biz to Immunoscript Life Science for Rs 139.5 Cr

Emcure Pharmaceuticals has announced that its subsidiary, Gennova Biopharmaceuticals, has entered into a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) to divest its mRNA business to Immunoscript Life Science. The transaction will be executed for a lump sum cash consideration of Rs 139.5 crore.

This strategic move allows Gennova to reorganise operations and focus on core areas such as research and development, manufacturing, and marketing of biotechnology-based products, including biosimilars and adjacent therapeutic platforms. During FY2025-26, Gennova reported a turnover of Rs 491.7 crore.  

The buyer, Immunoscript Life Science, is a Pune-based company promoted by Dr Sanjay Singh, formerly a director of Gennova. The company is focused on precision immunology, combining biological engineering, artificial intelligence and scalable biomanufacturing to develop next-generation vaccines and advanced therapeutics. Immunoscript was incorporated in April 2026 and is not part of Emcure's promoter or group companies.
