Partnership to advance global public health research, education, and academic collaboration

The University of Leeds, in the UK, and the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at advancing public health research, education, and academic collaboration.

The agreement creates a framework for long-term engagement between the two institutions, enabling collaborative research, academic exchange, and joint educational initiatives.

Through this partnership, the University of Leeds and PHFI will work together to address emerging public health challenges in the areas of antimicrobial resistance, health equity, trauma prevention and one health while fostering innovation and strengthening global knowledge networks.

Key areas of collaboration include the development of joint research projects; the organisation of academic activities such as joint courses and programmes, conferences, symposia, and lectures; the exchange of research and teaching personnel; student placements and exchange opportunities; and the sharing of publications and other scholarly resources of mutual interest.

The partnership is expected to enhance interdisciplinary research and strengthen academic ties between India and the United Kingdom (UK), supporting evidence-based approaches to global health challenges.
