India’s ambition to move further up the pharmaceutical value chain will increasingly depend not only on manufacturing scale, but on its ability to build deeper capabilities in drug discovery and development.
Against this backdrop, the Medicinal Chemistry, Drug Discovery & Development India 2026 (MCADDI 2026) is bringing together more than 200 professionals, researchers and industry experts for a six-day programme at the University of Hyderabad from October 25 to 30, 2026.
Organised by the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA) in collaboration with the University of Hyderabad, Biocon Academy, Aragen Academy and Science Gurus, the programme brings together an international faculty and senior industry practitioners to examine the rapidly changing landscape of pharmaceutical R&D.
With 31 lectures, case studies and interactive sessions, MCADDI 2026 spans the drug discovery journey from the fundamentals of medicinal chemistry and target identification to computational drug design, biologics, antibody-drug conjugates, oncology, immunotherapy and emerging therapeutic modalities.
Experts from organisations including Novartis, AbbVie, Pfizer, Merck, Aragen, Sun Pharma, Aurobindo and leading biotechnology companies are contributing perspectives from different stages of the drug discovery and development process.
Sessions covering molecular interactions, in-silico tools for medicinal chemists, applications of in-silico approaches in drug discovery and AI-based drug design highlight how computational capabilities are becoming increasingly integrated into the modern discovery workflow.
Oncology remains another major theme, with sessions and case studies covering pancreatic cancer, breast cancer therapy and broader oncology drug discovery.
