Shoolini University, located in Solan, has been awarded the Promotion of University Research and Scientific Award by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India Awarded the Excellence (PURSE) Grant. This grant of Rs 9 crore will be used for advanced research in water and cancer.

This fund will be used to buy expensive equipment for research in medicine, biology, chemistry and other related fields. In addition, it will enable the University to set up extraordinary infrastructure, which is not provided for in other funding schemes.

About 70% of the grant will be spent on purchasing modern equipment needed for research, while the remaining funds will be used for consumables, human resources, organising seminars, maintenance, and startup support and industrial alliances.

According to Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand, this grant will provide essential resources to advance research work in areas such as water and cancer, and to invest in state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure needed to enhance the university's research capabilities.

The grant will be utilised over the next four years as per the terms and conditions and the university has been asked to set up a 'Project Implementation' group for its implementation. This grant will help Shoolini University faculty members and researchers to plan and conduct high-quality research in water and cancer, which will contribute significantly to the scientific progress of the country.
