Cabinet approves ICMR's recent MoUs on diagnostics and AMR research

MoUs inked with FIND and GARDP Foundation

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was apprised of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India and the GARDP Foundation on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Research and Innovation to strengthen the relations within the framework of the international scientific and technological collaboration and to promote cooperation in fields of mutual interest. The MoU was signed by India in March’2021.

The Cabinet has also approved the MoU signed between the ICMR and Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND), Switzerland. The MoU has been signed in February’2021 by India.

The ICMR-GARDP Collaborations will include establishing a strategy and modalities for financial and in-kind contributions by both Parties to ensure the success of the joint objectives. Funding may be provided directly to the other Party or to the third parties engaged in Projects. All financial and in-kind contributions will be subject of separate legally binding agreements.

Further, ICMR is committed to make available funding up to $100,000 while FIND will make available funds up to $ 400,000 to local partners and researchers identified through Request for proposal (RFP).
