Since January 1, 2013, New Delhi based biosupplier division of Premas Biotech became the sole sales channel partner across India for marketing of Illumina's sequencing, array and related product lines. Earlier, Spinco Biotech, Chennai that was taking care of this portfolio outside the national capital region (NCR), will focus solely on the new Molecular Biology and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) product lines of Illumina across India.

The management at Premas Life Sciences is very excited about handling all India sales of Illumina next generation sequencing (NGS) and array products again. They believe that this association which is now completing seven years, will lead to mutually rewarding gains for both the partners.

Commenting on the future outlook, Mr Praveen Gupta, executive director, Premas Biotech told BioSpectrum, "Illumina is clearly the global market leader in the genomics arena and Premas has made rapid strides in Indian genomics with its best in class support.
