Immuna Therapeutics AG, based in, Switzerland, and NIMS University Rajasthan, Jaipur, have announced a $3 million partnership to develop an affordable, locally delivered model for CAR-T cell therapy in Rajasthan.
Announced at the World Health Summit in Berlin, the collaboration aims to establish a Rajasthan Centre of Excellence for CAR-T clinical delivery, research and training.
Signed in the presence of Prof. (Dr) Balvir S. Tomar, Founder and Chancellor of NIMS University, and Pradeep Kakkattil the Co-founder of Immuna Therapeutics and Founder & CEO of Health Innovation Exchange - HIEx, the partnership is intended to create a scalable model that could extend access to advanced cancer treatments beyond major metropolitan centres.
NIMS would contribute $2 million towards infrastructure, clinical operations and patient care, while Immuna would contribute $1 million in technology, training and technical implementation.
Immuna is developing an alternative model built around local clinical capacity, technology transfer and a more affordable treatment package. The collaboration would provide technical processes to NIMS, supported by training, standard operating procedures, quality and process implementation, and regulatory technical support. The longer-term ambition is to bring qualified treatment and, where approved, manufacturing capacity closer to patients, reducing dependence on centralised delivery models. The proposed patient-package price is capped at Rs 30 lakh.
