Twelve of the top 40 pharmaceutical brands recorded more than 20 per cent value growth in July 2026, significantly outperforming the Indian Pharmaceutical Market (IPM), which grew 12.1 per cent during the month, according to data from Pharmarack Technologies.
Sharing insights on the market, Sheetal Sapale, Vice President – Commercial at Pharmarack Technologies, noted that the majority of the top players showed encouraging value growth during July.
Eli Lilly's Mounjaro emerged as the clear growth leader, with July sales of Rs 110 crore, registering an exceptional 157 per cent value growth. However, unit growth was negative at 43.7 per cent, indicating that the sharp value expansion was driven by factors beyond volumes.
IPCA's Zerodol SP followed with 37.3 per cent value growth, reaching Rs 81 crore in July, with units growing a strong 28.1 per cent. Torrent's Cilacar recorded 35.3 per cent value growth to Rs 62 crore, accompanied by 23.3 per cent unit growth. Sun Pharma's Rosuvas grew 32.1 per cent to Rs 47 crore, while Torrent's Chymoral Forte recorded 29.8 per cent growth to Rs 38 crore.
Other brands registering more than 20 per cent value growth were Sun Pharma's Pantocid, up 28.9 per cent to Rs 37 crore; Abbott's Ryzodeg, up 27.1 per cent to Rs 58 crore; and Cipla's Dytor, which grew 26.4 per cent to Rs 42 crore.
Emcure's Zostum grew 26.2 per cent to Rs 40 crore, while Sun Pharma's Levipil increased 23.8 per cent to Rs 49 crore. USV's Ecosprin AV posted 22.9 per cent growth to Rs 53 crore, and AstraZeneca's Brilinta recorded 21.3 per cent growth to Rs 42 crore. The performance of these brands stands out against the overall IPM's 12.1 per cent value growth and 1.6 per cent unit growth in July.
The growth was largely volume-supported for several brands. Zerodol SP, Cilacar, Rosuvas, Pantocid, Ryzodeg and Levipil all recorded double-digit unit growth alongside their value expansion.
Mounjaro was the notable exception. Its 157 per cent value growth was accompanied by a 43.7 per cent decline in units, highlighting the impact of product mix, pricing and market expansion on value performance.
Overall, the July data shows that a select group of established brands are growing at nearly twice or more than the pace of the IPM, with Mounjaro emerging as the standout performer among the top 40 brands.
