Several pharmaceutical companies recorded more than 20 per cent value growth in July 2026, significantly outperforming the overall Indian Pharmaceutical Market (IPM), which grew 12.1 per cent during the month, according to data from Pharmarack Technologies.
Sharing insights on the market, Sheetal Sapale, Vice President – Commercial at Pharmarack Technologies, noted that the majority of the top pharmaceutical companies recorded encouraging value growth in July.
Among the companies tracked by Pharmarack, Eli Lilly posted the highest value growth at 92 per cent in July 2026, with sales of Rs 117 crore. However, unit growth declined 53.8 per cent during the month, indicating that the sharp value growth was not volume-led.
AstraZeneca emerged as another strong performer, recording 29.1 per cent value growth in July, with sales reaching Rs 108 crore. The company also registered robust unit growth of 23.7 per cent. Corona recorded 24.4 per cent value growth, with July sales reaching Rs 180 crore, while units grew 9.8 per cent. La Renon posted 23 per cent value growth, taking its July sales to Rs 188 crore, with unit growth of 6.6 per cent. Nutricia rounded out the top five companies with growth above 20 per cent, recording 22.7 per cent value growth in July and sales of Rs 128 crore. Unit growth stood at 10.1 per cent.
The performance of these companies stands out against the 12.1 per cent value growth recorded by the overall IPM in July. Growth was not uniformly volume-led. While AstraZeneca and Nutricia recorded strong unit growth, Eli Lilly's sharp value increase came despite a significant decline in units, highlighting the role of product mix and pricing in value expansion.
Among the larger companies, the growth story was also encouraging. Sun Pharma, the largest company in the IPM with July sales of Rs 2,041 crore, recorded 17.8 per cent value growth. Cipla grew 17.3 per cent to Rs 1,290 crore, while Torrent Pharma registered 16.1 per cent growth to Rs 1,213 crore.
The July data points to broad-based value expansion across India's pharmaceutical market, with a select group of companies significantly outperforming the market's 12.1 per cent growth.
