Wockhardt launches Antibiotic Academy for scientific dialogue to tackle multidrug resistance

Mumbai-based pharma firm Wockhardt has announced the launch of Antibiotic Academy, an open scientific learning platform accessible to the registered medical fraternity across India. It aims to facilitate continuous medical education through the exchange of knowledge, scientific discussions, and the sharing of real-world clinical experience among healthcare professionals.

This Academy is the first step in building a nationwide scientific movement. Wockhardt hopes to collaborate with clinicians across the country to strengthen the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Ultimately, the true measure of success will be the number of patients whose lives are saved through better-informed clinical decisions.

"There is an urgent need not only to have a new antibiotic like Zaynich, but also to have a science-based platform that fosters constructive dialogue on antimicrobial resistance and its appropriate management. It is essential to use the right antibiotic for the right patient at the right time. We hope this Academy will create a deeper understanding of the current realities of drug resistance and promote evidence-based solutions that enable clinicians to save patients' lives," said Dr. Habil Khorakiwala, Founder Chairman, Wockhardt.
