In a major step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Northeast India, RJ Corp Healthcare has laid the foundation stone for Cocoon Hospital, Guwahati — an advanced Mother & Child Care Hospital.
The Bhumi Pujan ceremony was performed in the presence of Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, marking the beginning of a landmark healthcare project that will deliver world-class & affordable maternal and child healthcare services to the region.
Planned as a 50-bedded NABH-accredited facility, Cocoon Hospital, Guwahati will be a state-of-the-art centre for maternity, gynaecology, IVF, paediatrics, and neonatal care. Spread across 1 acre, the hospital is designed to bring together advanced clinical infrastructure, expert medical teams, and a compassionate approach to care. Once operational, the facility will serve as a regional referral centre for the entire Northeast, offering comprehensive healthcare for women and children under one roof.
Beyond clinical services, this initiative aims to make a significant social and economic impact in Assam by generating over 700 direct and indirect employment opportunities, partnering with local enterprises for procurement, logistics, and service delivery, and driving community well-being through preventive health camps, vaccination drives, and wellness programmes for women and children. Additionally, the project seeks to enhance health literacy and awareness through continuous outreach and educational initiatives — fostering a culture of preventive and inclusive healthcare across the state.
The upcoming hospital will be equipped with modern operation theatres, digital diagnostic systems, and advanced neonatal intensive care, enabling a continuum of care for mothers and children. It is expected to be operational within the next 2 years, setting new benchmarks for quality and patient-centric healthcare in the Northeast.
The foundation of Cocoon Hospital, Guwahati, marks the beginning of RJ Corp Healthcare’s strategic expansion into the Northeast.
