Unveiling BugSpeaks2.0 – The Next Generation in Microbiome Testing

Bengaluru-based Leucine Rich Bio, South Asia’s pioneering microbiome company, recently hosted the "World of Microbiome" event to commemorate its 10th anniversary. As the recipient of the prestigious National Startup Award, Leucine Rich Bio has been at the forefront of microbiome research and innovation in the region.

The inaugural 'World of Microbiome,' an exclusive, invite-only event, marked a pioneering milestone in the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of microbiome research. The event took place on August 21, 2024 at Welcomhotel by ITC, Bengaluru. It provided a platform for leading experts, doctors, scientists, and entrepreneurs to engage in insightful discussions and share their knowledge on the latest advancements in microbiome research.

The event highlighted the journey and new initiatives of Leucine Rich Bio, including the unveiling of BugSpeaks2.0, the latest evolution of their renowned microbiome test. BugSpeaks, South Asia’s first and one of the world’s leading microbiome tests, has set a benchmark in the industry, and BugSpeaks2.0 promises to further enhance its impact.

Prof. Saumitra Das, Chairman of the Microbiology and Cell Biology Department at the Indian Institute of Science, graced the event as the Chief Guest. His keynote address highlighted the importance of genomics and microbiome research in improving scientific knowledge. He emphasised the necessity of strong academic-industry partnerships in addressing today's critical scientific concerns.

A panel discussion with well-known dieticians and nutritionists explored the potential of the microbiome in nutritional recommendations.

Shiva Subramanian, Founder and Chairman of Connect Ventures, delivered a highly engaging address following the panel discussion. He discussed how microbiome analysis helped to improve soil qualities, particularly for coffee plantations. He also discussed the necessity to look at the indoor microbiome, which affects everyone's health.

This session was followed by another panel discussion where the panelists provided their perspectives on a variety of requirements, including the need for novel reagents, eco-friendly packaging, clinical trials incorporating microbiome to the role of probiotics in closing the loop to enable the microbiome domain to go to the next level.

He also gave an insight into the microbiome therapeutic world.
