Padmashree Institute of  Management Studies is part of the Padmashree Charitable Trust, which was formed in 1994. The first institution to be started by the trust was Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy in 1996—the first physiotherapy institute to be started in Bangalore.
The institute is affiliated to Bangalore University. The institute offers a wide range of courses from health sciences to life sciences and is fully-equipped with plant biotechnology, microbiology and biochemistry labs. The courses offered by the institute include BSc and MSc in biotechnology, pharmacy and microbiology. The undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the institute are integrated with Bio dHRona, an industry-oriented module designed in collaboration with industries. The practical training imparted through department seminars, workshops and industry visits at this college help to enhance the skills of students.
