Stem Cells: Premises & Promises

The National Institute for Research Health, Indian Council of Medical Research, Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility and Histostem, Inc., USA, will conduct an international symposium on "Stem Cells: Premises & Promises for Research & Therapeutics", in Mumbai on September 18-21, 2005.

The symposium will be an interactive forum for scientists involved in stem cell research to deliberate on the current scenario and identify future directions for research and therapeutic applications. The symposium would also serve as a platform to enhance awareness of the advances in stem cell research among the scientific community, to develop interactions between the scientists, and to establish linkages with national and international institutions working in the area.

Drug Discovery to Clinical Trials

IBC Life Sciences will organize Drug Discovery to Clinical Trials conference on October 5-7, 2005 in Mumbai. Short course on mammalian cell culture

The Department of Biotechnology of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, is organizing a two-day short course on mammalian cell culture on September 19-20, 2005, at the Centre for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (ICSR Building, Hall 3), Chennai.

This course is designed for industrial biotechnologists and academic researchers, interested in learning the current practices and exploring the future trends in mammalian cell culture biotechnology. It will present an interdisciplinary approach, covering both biological and engineering aspects of mammalian
cell culture.
