KIMS Hospitals in association with Boston Scientific launches Illumina 3D™ technology

KIMS Hospitals, Mahadevapura, Bengaluru in association with Boston Scientific, has launched Illumina 3D™ technology, an image-guided programming platform for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), making the hospital the first in India to introduce the technology.

Designed to support greater precision and personalised DBS programming for patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, the technology uses advanced imaging and intelligent algorithms to help develop customised stimulation programmes.

The launch was graced by key leadership from KIMS Hospitals, including Dr Guruprasad Hosurkar, Director & Lead Consultant in Neurology and Head of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Programme; and Dr Raghuram Gopalakrishnan, Director & Senior Consultant and Head of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.

The introduction of Illumina 3D™ marks an important milestone in KIMS Hospitals’ efforts to bring advanced neurological technologies to India and strengthen access to personalised care for patients with complex movement disorders.
