The Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has provided financial assistance to Ceramat, in Palghar, Maharashtra, for a project titled 'Calcium Phosphate-based Standard and Customised Patient-Specific Grafts by 3D Printing through Digital Light Processing Technology and Extrusion-Based Device'.
The project aims to commercialise advanced, patient-specific bone grafts using indigenously manufactured bioceramic materials and 3D printing technologies.
The use of indigenous calcium phosphate-based materials combined with advanced additive manufacturing is expected to expand Ceramet's current biomaterial capabilities, allowing it to expand beyond traditional graft products to more sophisticated, digitally designed, and patient-specific solutions.
This initiative will also help the company offer a wide range of bioceramic and orthobiological products through an integrated domestic manufacturing system.
The company's product portfolio includes technologically advanced biomaterials such as hydroxyapatite, beta-tricalcium phosphate, biphasic calcium phosphate, and bioactive glass, which are used in orthopedics, oral care, cosmetics, and industrial sectors.
