Mounjaro's Rs 112 crore in monthly sales dwarfs every other brand on the list

India's branded pharmaceutical market saw Eli Lilly's Mounjaro cement its position as the top-selling brand in August 2026, with monthly sales value approaching Rs 100 crore, according to the latest report from Pharmarack Technologies.

Mounjaro retained the No. 1 rank both on a MAT (Moving Annual Total) and monthly basis, with August sales value of Rs 112 crore and MTH value growth of 34.1 per cent. GSK's Augmentin (Rs 94 crore) and USV's Glycomet GP (Rs 85 crore) held on to the No. 2 and No. 3 positions respectively, at both the MAT and monthly level, underscoring their consistent, established demand base even as growth rates moderate compared to newer high-momentum brands.

Commenting on the trend, Sheetal Sapale, Vice President – Commercial, Pharmarack Technologies, said Zerodol SP, Cilacar, Ryzodeg and Telma were among the brands posting double-digit growth in both value and units this month. She added that several other brands also recorded strong double-digit growth in both value and volume terms, including Manforce, Levipil, Rosuvas, Electral, Brilinta, Dytor, Calpol, Chymoral Forte and Pantocid.

Mounjaro's Rs 112 crore in monthly sales dwarfs every other brand on the list, with the drug's revenue outpacing the next two brands, Augmentin and Glycomet GP, even as its unit growth turned negative month-on-month, pointing to price and mix-led gains rather than volume expansion this particular month. Augmentin and Glycomet GP, meanwhile, showed durability by holding their ranks consistently across both MAT and MTH views, reflecting their entrenched position in the anti-infective and anti-diabetic segments.

Among the high-growth brands, Zerodol SP combined the highest growth rate of 45.2 per cent with a solid revenue base of Rs 80 crore, making it one of the standout performers of the month both in percentage and absolute terms. The top brands collectively represent a broad-based double-digit growth story spanning pain management, cardiovascular, diabetes, gut health and anti-infective categories, suggesting the growth momentum in India's pharma market this August was not confined to any single therapy area.
