Amity University inks MoA with Quaraxia Pharmaceuticals to strengthen biotech and biopharma research

An important milestone in strengthening the synergy between academia and industry

Amity University, Uttar Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Muzaffarnagar-based Quaraxia Pharmaceuticals to promote industry-academia collaboration in the fields of biotechnology and biopharma research. 

The partnership aims to foster cutting-edge research and innovation in the development of Ayurveda-inspired cosmeceutical formulations.

Under this collaboration, Quaraxia Pharmaceuticals will sponsor two research projects titled “Studies on Cosmeceutical Formulation Development against Aging with Superoxide Dismutase and Protease enzymes obtained from Ayurvedic Plant Sources” and “Development and Evaluation Studies on Enzyme-Based Cosmeceutical Formulation for Eczema Management: Role of Ayurvedic Plant-Derived Superoxide dismutase and Protease enzymes.” 

The projects will be jointly led by Dr Nidhee Chaudhary and Dr Maryam Sarwat, Professors from Amity Institute of Biotechnology.

Addressing the gathering, Prabhat Kumar, CEO Quaraxia Pharmaceuticals, noted, “Quaraxia Pharmaceuticals is delighted to collaborate with Amity University on these innovative projects focused on the development of Ayurveda-inspired enzymatic cosmeceutical formulations using Superoxide Dismutase and Protease enzymes derived from plant sources. The projects aim to create stable and bioactive formulations with potent antioxidant, anti-aging, and anti-inflammatory properties, thereby contributing towards sustainable biocosmetic innovation for skincare and eczema management.”

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “Amity University is a research and innovation-driven institution committed to aligning research with national priorities and fostering scientific excellence. Collaborations with industry leaders such as Quaraxia Pharmaceuticals help strengthen our research ecosystem and provide students and faculty with opportunities to develop innovative and impactful solutions for society.”
