Iowa Biotechnology Association (IowaBio) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE).
The MoU highlights common missions and interests in a thriving biotechnology economy, within Iowa and India, and establishes that the organisations intend to establish a formal long-term collaboration to foster the growth and success of the memberships of ABLE and IowaBio and the biotechnology industries in Iowa and India.
The agreement recognises areas of common interest including: biomanufacturing, crop technologies, ag tech innovations, One Health (an approach that recognizes that the health of people is closely connected to the health of animals and our shared environment), animal vaccine development and manufacturing, animal nutrition, biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing, human nutrition, food ingredients and food testing, biofuels feedstocks and production, strong trade and ease of legal and regulatory processes, access to venture capital, strong STEM workforce.
The MoU was signed by Jessica Hyland, Executive Director of IowaBio and G.S. Krishnan, President of ABLE, with the Governor of Iowa Kim Reynolds signing as a witness to convey support from the State of Iowa.

We are hopeful that India’s dynamic biotech capabilities in R&D, manufacturing, and skilled workforce will enable us to quickly implement joint projects and enhance access to capital - delivering measurable outcomes for our members and industries on both sides,” said Dr S. Balasubramanya, General Manager of ABLE.
