BPL Medical Technologies, India’s leading medical equipment brand with a 50-year legacy under the BPL Group, has announced that as part of its CSR initiative, it is funding the establishment of a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) department at Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College, Sattur, from the next academic year.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the college’s Innovation & Incubation Centre and Health Club, which witnessed participation from over 1,000 students, faculty members and invited guests.
The CSR-supported AI department aims to equip students with exposure to emerging technologies and industry-relevant applications. Through this initiative, BPL Medical Technologies continues to invest in long-term capability building by enabling higher education institutions to expand into next generation academic disciplines.
Addressing the students, Dr Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director of BPL Medical Technologies said, “AI may seem like just another tech component today, but it will soon define how we live and work, much like how the internet was once perceived.As students preparing for that future, it is important to understand this technology deeply while ensuring it remains guided by human judgement and ethics.
