Leucine Rich Bio expands into women’s health with BugSpeaks Vaginal Microbiome Test

Bengaluru-based Leucine Rich Bio, a pioneer in genomics and biotechnology, has announced the  launch of the BugSpeaks Vaginal Microbiome Test.

The test marks the first vaginal microbiome diagnostic available across South and Middle East Asia, representing a significant advancement in preventive women’s healthcare.

The launch builds on the company’s established portfolio, which includes the BugSpeaks Gut Microbiome Test and Facial Skin Microbiome Test.

Leucine Rich Bio is now extending its precision multi-omics capabilities to female reproductive and urogenital health, an area that has seen significant diagnostic gaps for decades.

Women’s reproductive and urogenital health has historically depended on traditional culture methods. These methods frequently fail to capture the full complexity of microbial interactions. The BugSpeaks Vaginal Microbiome Test evaluates the complete local microbial ecosystem. It predicts wellness risks, detects early-stage dysbiosis, and delivers personalized health recommendations before chronic symptoms develop. Early risk assessment spans dysbiosis, reproductive health challenges, menopausal transitions, and intimate discomfort.

The test is powered by Whole Metagenome Shotgun Sequencing utilizing Oxford Nanopore Technologies. Results are analysed through the company’s proprietary MetaRich bioinformatic pipeline, MicroByte database, and NutriByte nutritional intelligence framework. The diagnostic output covers eight sections: core vaginal dysbiosis and infections, reproductive health and fertility, sexually transmitted infection susceptibility, menopausal transitions, microbial composition and predictive pH, functional secretions, the gut-vagina axis, and antimicrobial resistance profiling.

Findings are translated into tailored dietary recommendations incorporating prebiotic and polyphenol-rich foods, alongside personalized topical and oral probiotic strain suggestions. The test has been developed under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certified quality processes.
