Biofoundries are designed to accelerate biological research and biotechnology development by applying engineering principles, standardization, modularity, and automation, into biological workflows. This session explores strategic approaches that leverage advanced automation and miniaturization to de-risk and accelerate the development of new solutions across biomanufacturing.
Drawing on the PPTI podcast conversation with experts from Toulouse White Biotechnology and Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, the discussion covers how data integration, miniaturization, and standardized workflows come together to reduce both risk and cost, and how teams can adopt automation practically, without disrupting existing infrastructure.
Discover how automation and miniaturization optimize the entire biomanufacturing workflow, from strain engineering and high-throughput screening to culture optimization, de-risking scale-up.
Understand how automated, miniaturized platforms enable accelerated workflow development with a smaller footprint and increased throughput versus traditional approaches.
Explore the latest generation of user-friendly equipment that simplifies access to advanced automation, making next-generation biomanufacturing both accessible and efficient.
Olivier is a biochemical engineer who earned a PhD in viro-oncology from the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France. In 2010 he co-initiated the design and setup of the French pre-industrial demonstrator TWB, an institute stimulating the bio-economy through public-private partnerships and industrial bio-solutions. As CTO, he oversees technology projects and leads the technical innovation of the demonstrator.
