A strategic collaboration has been announced between I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics, the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) MediValley, NITI Aayog, and RoboMed Innovations, to accelerate innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialisation in Medical Robotics Technologies.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Principal Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood. This partnership marks a significant step toward building a robust ecosystem that bridges research, innovation, clinical validation, manufacturing, and commercialization of indigenous medical robotic technologies.
Key highlights of the collaboration include- To establish a collaborative ecosystem to nurture Medical Robotics startups; Launch innovation challenges, hackathons and accelerator programmes; Facilitate access to incubation, testing, mentoring and manufacturing infrastructure; Strengthen technology translation from laboratory to market; Promote indigenous robotic surgical systems and advanced healthcare technologies aligned with the Make in India vision
One of the ambitious goals of this collaboration is to facilitate the establishment of at least 12 medical robotics manufacturing companies at AMTZ over the next three years, creating a strong innovation pipeline for India's MedTech sector.
The partners aim to enable the next generation of entrepreneurs, researchers, clinicians and industry partners to shape the future of Medical Robotics and strengthen India's position as a global hub for advanced and affordable healthcare technologies.
