A world-class cancer research park is soon to be developed in Visakhapatnam. A high-level team from America-based Elixsys and noted companies in cancer care will be visiting the city to explore the project further.

Named Vyas Cancer Park (VCR), it is aimed at making the park a prominent hub for cancer research. The aim of the project is to create a comprehensive life science ecosystem that specialises in bringing together various stakeholders from around the world to undertake research in the VCR Park.

The park is proposed in 350 acres with an investment of Rs.3,035 crore. The promoters promise direct employment for 12,000 and indirect jobs for 17,500.

The promoters of the project, experts from all over the world, and State government officials, along with Ministers, will be attending a conference being held in Visakhapatnam on February 17 and 18 to discuss about cancer research and progress with regard to establishing the park.

The primary objective of the conference is to create alignment between the leadership in industry, academia, clinical care, start-ups, and government, and design innovative initiatives to improve clinical outcomes for cancer patients. The forum will provide a unique opportunity for all the delegates to showcase their expertise and participate in creative problem solving.
