India's largest genomics conference GIC returns for its sixth edition in Sept 2026

Marking continued progress in India’s Multiomics and AI landscape, Genotypic Technology, in collaboration with the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), and the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), has announced the 6th Edition of the Genomics India Conference (GIC 2026).

Scheduled for September 2–3, 2026, with pre-conference workshops on September 1, 2026, the conference will be held at the Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre, GKVK Campus, Bengaluru —a venue set to witness the convergence of science, innovation, and the future of biology.

Centred around the theme “Genome to Bioeconomy: Innovation, Impact and Economic Transformation,” GIC 2026 reflects the accelerating movement of genomic science from the laboratory into real-world application.

From healthcare and diagnostics to agriculture, industrial biotechnology, and public health infrastructure, genomics is increasingly shaping India’s bioeconomy. GIC 2026 is designed to serve as the national platform where this transition is examined, debated, and accelerated by the very community driving it.

A platform for researchers across all career stages, from emerging scholars to senior experts in academia and industry, the conference facilitates the exchange of ideas, provides opportunities to learn from leaders in the field, and supports the development of impactful collaborations.

The three-day conference will feature an extensive scientific programme comprising 20+ speakers and 10+ sessions spanning four focus areas: Agri-Genomics, AI/ML in Genomics, Health Tech and Genome Biology.

In addition to keynote addresses and technical sessions, GIC 2026 will feature fireside chats with industry leaders, live demonstrations of cutting-edge Next Generation Sequencing technologies from 20+ exhibitors.
