The new institute will do research in the field of lifestyle diseases and its cure with traditional as well as allopathic medicines.
Modi government will set up a University of Medicines, which will provide a place of pride to all schools of medicines including allopathic and traditional.
The union health minister, Mr J P Nadda has stated that the university will be a repository of knowledge on communicable and non-communicable diseases and help broaden understanding towards traditional medicines and its benefits.
He was addressing the ‘Stop Diabetes Movement (SDM) All India Review meeting', organised by S-Vyasa University, Bengalore on July 13, 2015.
"This university will carry out documentation of diseases and their treatment and cure through various traditional practices," Nadda said.
"The University of Medicines will be a repository of all knowledge on communicable and non-communicable diseases and help us to broaden our understanding towards traditional medicines and its benefits," he said.
