Its a new CEO for Monsanto India

Monsanto officially announced that it has appointed Ms Shilpa Divekar Nirula as the new CEO for its business across India, along with Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka and as well as MD of Monsanto India Limited (MIL)


Ms Shilpa D Nirula will assume the new roles from September 1, 2014

The current CEO, Dr Gyanendra Shukla, will transition as regional lead of Monsanto's Africa Region.

He is said to lead Monsanto's efforts to transform agriculture in Africa.

Ms Shilpa is expected to assume the new role from Dr Shukla for both the offices beginning this September 1, 2014, said Monsanto's press statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shukla said, "Shilpa's breadth of experience and understanding of agriculture in India will bring valuable perspective to deepen Monsanto's commitment to India."
