Syngene appoints new US distributors and sales manager

UK-based Syngene, a manufacturer of image analysis solutions, has announced that it is strengthening its US presence with the appointment of distributors, Bartlett-Williams Scientific Resources and Imgen Technologies, as well as a new sales manager for its own US commercial team.

Syngene has added Imgen and Bartlett-Williams, established manufacturer's representatives with specialist knowledge of image analysis, to expertly sell and support its equipment in North America.

 

Dr Nadig quits Stempeutics

Dr RS Nadig, COO of Bangalore-based Stempeutics Research, has resigned from his post to pursue other interests. Dr Nadig has an experience of over 20 years in clinical research and pharmaceutical industry and has worked with leading MNCs in India and outside. Dr Nadig led the clinical research programs at Stempeutics, which is exploring Phase II proof of concept studies with stem cells. Dr Nadig has not made his future plans known as yet.

 

Vincent Santa Maria joins Bilcare

Vincent Santa Maria, a veteran of the clinical service industry, is the new president of Bilcare, a global clinical supplies and services company. Santa Maria has over 25 years of experience primarily in pharmaceutical operations and pharmaceutical services, most recently serving as a consultant to the industry.

"Vincent is highly regarded throughout the clinical services industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Bilcare," said Mohan Bhandari, CMD of Bilcare Ltd. "Given his expertise and drive, we are confident that Vincent will be a great asset for business development and provide the necessary leadership as we continue to set new standards of product quality and customer service in what is becoming an increasingly competitive marketplace."

Prior to serving as a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry, Santa Maria was president and MD of Almedica Service Corporation where he oversaw daily operations including manufacturing, business development, project management, quality assurance, finance, risk management, human resources and information technology. Vincent played a pivotal role in the turnaround of Almedica by focusing on delivering dramatically improved quality and service to clients in North America and around the globe.

Santa Maria succeeds Steve Jacobs who served as Bilcare President and Global COO for the past two years.

 

Dr Kumar to head Dr Reddy's R&D

Dr Reddy's Laboratories has appointed Dr Rajinder Kumar as president of research, development and commercialization. At Dr Reddy's, Dr Kumar will lead and integrate discovery research, global drug development and commercialization efforts, including differentiated products. Dr Kumar graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Dundee, UK and is an alumnus of acclaimed institutions such as the University of London and University of Birmingham.

 

ClinTec International recruits Dr Nuggehally Srinivas

ClinTec International has announced the appointment of Dr Nuggehally Srinivas to join its global operations as executive vice president – Asia, from its Indian office in Bangalore. As part of the next phase of an expansion and investment programme in India, Dr Srinivas plays a pivotal leadership role within the Indian operations and as the overall head for ClinTec in Asia.

Dr Srinivas who has been trained as a clinical pharmacologist in the US, has over seventeen years of drug development experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He held positions of increasing responsibility at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS, Princeton, NJ) in his tenure of over a decade in the US. At BMS, Dr Srinivas worked on a range of NCEs across wide therapeutic areas leading to pre-clinical, clinical development and NDA filings. Recently, he held the title of executive vice president, drug development at Dr.Reddy's Laboratories (DRL), Hyderabad. In DRL, Dr Srinivas led, formed strategy for, and operationalized drug development initiatives including seamless integration of preclinical and clinical functions. Dr Srinivas holds editorial board position in several international journals and has published over 120 research articles. To the ClinTec group, Dr Srinivas brings a solid track record in pre-clinical and clinical drug development activities.

 

Sigma-Aldrich promotes two senior executives

Sigma-Aldrich Corporation has promoted two current senior executives to new responsibilities with the company. Gerrit van den Dool will assume expanded duties in the newly created position of vice president-sales and Dr David A Smoller will become the new president of the company's research biotech business unit.
