The entire manufacturing technology of this research-based company has been developed in-house to produce a variety of membranes having applications in sterilizing filtration in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. The company has deep penetration in Indian biopharmaceutical industry and enjoys dominant position in many product segments. Advanced Microdevices has included the nucleic acid isolation, purification, and separation kits in its product range. The company also produces very consistent nitrocellulose membranes for rapid immunodiagnostic tests. The MDI red blood cells (RBC) separator for lateral flow tests is considered to be the best in the market in terms of efficacy and efficiency. A unique rapid plasma separation device has been developed for use with quantitative diagnostic analyzers and point of care applications.
The focus at MDI is on using its membrane technologies as a platform for developing new value added products for use in filtration and separation. MDI has a unique interdisciplinary expertise which allows it a very fast turnaround in developing new and customized products for its customers.
MDI's product portfolio boasts of more about 15,000 products, with many more in the pipeline at various stages of research and development. The products are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 certified production facility and are CE certified.
The company has also set up a new 85,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art GMP facility at a cost of more than
20 crore. This facility includes a 10,000 sq ft clean production area with a capacity of more than five times the current production capacity. It also houses a 9,000 sq. ft. well equipped filter validation lab with all necessary instruments to deal with modern day drug formulations, novel drug delivery systems (NDDS), oncology drugs, and therapeutic recombinant proteins.
