Meet representatives from Australia and Victoria at Bangalore India BIO 2014

Bangalore: Neurosciences Victoria (NSV) has been engaged by the Australian and Victorian Governments to lead a three-year strategic marketing initiative to India to promote innovation focused on Melbourne's leading neuroscience, neurological and psychiatric capabilities. NSV is sending a delegation to Bangalore India BIO 2014, which will be held in Bangalore from February 10-12, 2014 (To read the delegate profiles of NSV click: Delegates Profile).

The delegation business opportunities for Victoria's world-class neuroscience medical research organizations to partner with Indian pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the development of novel drugs, diagnostics and medical devices are significant.

Australia is the leading location for biotechnology in the Asia Pacific with over 1,000 companies active in the field of biotechnology. With excellent infrastructure, strong, transparent and efficient Intellectual property systems as well as financial and political stability, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors in Australia employ 40,000 jobs directly.

In the three year program covering 2013 - 16, NSV will host a series of delegations to India of senior scientific staff from Melbourne's premier academic and commercial organizations that have a focus in neuroscience. Presentations on a range of opportunities for collaborative or contract research programs will be provided to Indian organizations with interests in neuroscience and related fields.

The development of networks and long term business relationships will facilitate closer technological linkages between India and Victoria. This will result in the development of Intellectual Property and products directed at global markets, technology transfer and high level clinical and scientific training.
